Regional Sizing of Reserve Capacity

The Regional Sizing of Reserve Capacity task is performed by RCCs in accordance with the Methodology under Article 37(1)(j) of Regulation (EU) 2019/943.

The task consists of two main parts: yearly determination of minimum required reserve capacity and daily short-term assessment of available sharing amounts in the relevant System Operation Region (SOR).

In 2025, Baltic RCC and Baltic TSOs set up the task development plan in the respective SOR and started implementation of this task. The daily short-term assessment of available sharing amounts was postponed to 2026 due to the absence of sharing agreements between LFC blocks within a synchronous area or between synchronous areas.
